Data used for sourcing

GURU processes the sourcing query, selected location, account or visitor context, and technical request identifiers needed to run a search, return results, prevent duplicate charges, and record credit usage.

Google Maps data

If an authenticated sourcing request uses Google Maps, GURU sends the relevant query and location to Google Maps Platform. A saved result refresh can also send its Google place identifier. Google processes that information under the Google Privacy Policy.

Public guest searches do not call Google Maps. GURU sourcing history stores Google place identifiers and references instead of a durable copy of live Places content, so historical Google Maps data must be refreshed before it is shown again.

Billing and operational records

GURU records the provider, operation, request identifier, quote, charge or release status, and resulting balance needed to operate credit billing and investigate duplicate or failed requests. Google Maps content is kept visually separate from GURU and public-web results.

Your choices

You can avoid Google Maps processing by not using or refreshing Google Maps-enhanced results. Other GURU and public-web results remain available when Google Maps is not called, is disabled, or cannot be billed.
